Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Brown the Ground Beef: In a skillet, brown the lean ground beef over medium heat, then drain excess grease and transfer to slow cooker.
  2. Mix the Cheese Mixture: Combine softened cream cheese, sour cream, ricotta, Italian seasoning, and garlic powder until smooth.
  3. Prepare the Slow Cooker: Spread half of the marinara sauce, then half of the uncooked bowtie pasta, and pour water over it.
  4. Layer the Remaining Ingredients: Add half of the browned beef and dollops of the cheese mixture, then repeat layers.
  5. Cook the Pasta: Cover and cook on low for 2.5 to 3 hours. Check for tenderness.
  6. Add the Mozzarella: Once pasta is tender, sprinkle mozzarella on top and cook for an additional 20 minutes.
