Step-by-Step Instructions for Korean Ground Beef
  1. In a large skillet, heat over medium-high heat, then add the ground beef. Cook for about 5 minutes, breaking it apart with a spatula until it’s evenly browned and no longer pink.
  2. While the beef is browning, mix together the soy sauce, brown sugar, gochujang, minced garlic, and grated ginger in a small bowl. Stir well until the brown sugar is dissolved.
  3. After the beef is fully cooked, drain any excess fat to keep the dish lean. Pour the prepared sauce over the beef, ensuring all the meat is coated. Allow the mixture to simmer on medium heat for about 5 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  4. Once the sauce has thickened slightly, remove the skillet from heat. Serve hot over a bed of rice or quinoa and sprinkle sliced green onions on top.

Notes

Opt for lean ground beef to reduce fat while keeping the dish flavorful. Adjust spice levels to suit your taste preferences. Mix ingredients well before adding to beef for even flavor distribution. Gently reheat leftovers on low heat to keep them moist.
