Preparation Steps
- In a clean mason jar or bowl, add 1 cup of old-fashioned rolled oats along with 1 cup of your choice of milk. Stir in 2 tablespoons of brown sugar, 1 tablespoon of chia seeds, and a splash of vanilla extract, along with a dash of cinnamon and a pinch of salt.
- Using a spoon or small whisk, mix the ingredients well until the oats are fully submerged in the liquid. Ensure the brown sugar dissolves completely and the chia seeds are evenly distributed.
- Cover the mason jar tightly with its lid or transfer the mixture into an airtight container. Place it in the refrigerator and let it chill overnight.
- When ready to serve, give the oats a good stir and top with fruits and nuts, if desired. Serve cold or warm in the microwave for 30–40 seconds.
