- Boil the Pasta: Bring a large pot of salted water to a rolling boil. Add spaghetti and cook until al dente, about 8-10 minutes. Reserve a cup of pasta water before draining.
- Sauté the Aromatics: Heat olive oil and unsalted butter in a large skillet over medium heat. Add minced garlic and red pepper flakes, sauté until fragrant, about 1-2 minutes.
- Cook the Shrimp: Add shrimp to the skillet, season with salt and pepper. Cook for 2-3 minutes until shrimp are pink and opaque.
- Add the Asparagus: Add chopped asparagus and remaining butter to the skillet. Cook for an additional 3-4 minutes until asparagus is tender yet crisp.
- Combine Ingredients: Reduce heat to low, stir in lemon zest and juice. Add drained spaghetti, tossing everything together. Gradually add reserved pasta water until desired sauce consistency is reached.
- Garnish and Serve: Remove from heat, sprinkle parsley and Parmesan cheese on top before serving.
