Baking Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and prepare two 9-inch round cake pans by greasing them.
- Whisk together the cake flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt in a mixing bowl until evenly blended.
- Beat the softened unsalted butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
- Add the eggs one at a time, then mix in the milk, vegetable oil, orange juice, orange zest, and extracts.
- Fold the dry ingredients into the wet mixture until just combined.
- Pour the batter evenly into the prepared pans and bake for 28-30 minutes until a toothpick comes out clean.
- Cool in pans for 10 minutes, then transfer to wire racks to cool completely.
- Beat together cream cheese and butter until smooth for the frosting. Add extracts and powdered sugar to taste.
- Assemble the cake by spreading frosting between layers and on top and sides.
