Baking Instructions

  3. Combine dry ingredients: In another bowl, whisk flour, baking soda, and ginger.
  4. Fold wet mixture into dry ingredients until just combined, avoiding overmixing.
  5. Fill the pans and bake for 18–22 minutes until a toothpick comes out clean.
  6. Cool the cakes in the pans for 10 minutes then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
  7. Prepare the optional glaze by mixing powdered sugar with orange juice and zest until smooth.
  8. Drizzle the glaze over cooled cakes before serving.
  9. Store in an airtight container at room temperature or refrigerate if glazed.
