Ingredients
  

For the Meatloaf
  • 1 pound Ground Beef can substitute with ground turkey or chicken
  • 1 cup Breadcrumbs use gluten-free breadcrumbs for gluten-free option
  • 1 medium Onion finely chopped
  • 2 cloves Garlic minced
  • 1 large Egg
  • 1/2 cup Milk
  • 2 tablespoons Worcestershire Sauce
  • 1 teaspoon Salt to taste
  • 1 teaspoon Pepper to taste
  • 1 teaspoon Thyme
  • 1 teaspoon Oregano
For the Marsala Sauce
  • 8 ounces Mushrooms sliced
  • 1 cup Marsala Wine or chicken broth for non-alcoholic
  • 2 tablespoons Olive Oil for sautéing

Method
 

Preparation Steps
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, breadcrumbs, onion, garlic, egg, milk, Worcestershire sauce, salt, pepper, thyme, and oregano. Mix until just combined.
  3. Transfer the mixture to a greased loaf pan and shape it into a snug loaf.
  4. In a skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat and sauté the sliced mushrooms for about 5 minutes until golden and fragrant.
  5. Add the Marsala wine to the skillet and simmer for about 5 minutes until slightly thickened.
  6. Pour the mushroom and wine mixture over the shaped meatloaf in the loaf pan.
  7. Bake in the preheated oven for about 1 hour, or until the internal temperature reaches 160°F (71°C).
  8. Let the meatloaf rest for 10 minutes before slicing and serving.
