Preparation
- Prepare the filling by cooking the cranberries, sugar, and water in a saucepan over medium heat for about 15 minutes until softened. Blend with butter and vanilla, cool, and refrigerate.
- Make the dough by mixing warm milk, yeast, and sugar in a bowl. Let it stand for 5 minutes. Combine with remaining ingredients, add flour gradually to form a smooth, sticky dough.
- Knead the dough in a stand mixer until elastic, about 5 minutes. Place in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise for 1 hour until doubled.
- Shape the rolls by rolling out dough, spreading cranberry filling, folding, cutting, and tying strips into knots before placing on baking sheets.
- Allow the rolls to rise again for about 30 minutes covered with a towel.
- Bake in a preheated oven at 350°F for 15-20 minutes until golden brown. Let cool slightly.
- Prepare the glaze by mixing confectioners' sugar and milk. Drizzle over warm rolls before serving.

Notes
Make the filling a day in advance for enhanced flavor. Watch for dough rising times as they may vary based on environment.
